GoFlex Slim, Seagate’s world thinnest Portable Harddrive

On the CES 2011 where held in Las Vegas, United States, some time ago Seagate hard drive manufacturer introduce new members to complete the list of their ultra-portable hard drive product lines.

Seagate announced their new product in the form of an external hard drive that claimed the world's thinnest. Named GoFlex Slim, measuring 2.5-inch, and has a thickness of only 9 mm, or approximately 30% slimmer than the other series of hard drive portable GoFlex Slim.

When compared with the iPad 2, this hard drive is 0.2 mm thinner. 320GB of capacity, GoFlex Slim 38% thinner than previous versions.

But with the body as thin as that, GoFlex Slim equipped with the latest technologies as well as USB 3.0 7200RPM to speed up the process of data transfer.

This hard drive is also bundled with software to back up and encryption of files and folders.

Another advantage of this GoFlex Slim, besides the slim body, is their compatibility when used in Windows operating system and also the Macintosh, although the actual hard drive is still using the NTFS format.

Indeed Macintosh operating system users can only perform activities of reading (read) to NTFS formatted drives, but Seagate has entered a software in GoFlex Super Slim so Mac users can also doing write activity into this hard drive.

While the price range is 80 poundsterling. Seagate is targeting the slim netbook or laptop users who usually doesn’t have big enough internal storage.
