LG Glimmer from Alltel launches today
Do you like this story?
It's a touch screen phone; and is controlled primarily by its 2.8-inch display but slides out a keypad for dialing by hand. In addition to its media player and microSD slot, the Glimmer is also fast enough to drive 3D games and supports a 2-megapixel camera. Assisted GPS mapping is supported through a custom Alltel app. The LG phone also plays host to multiple extra Alltel-specific features despite its Linux-based, Flash-driven OS, including live streaming video over 3G through Axcess TV. Assumed to be launching today, it will sell for $250 after factoring in a $100 rebate and a two-year contract. Lets just hope this phone is LG's glimmer of hope.
